IPL: Dominant Bengaluru thrash Chennai to break Chepauk jinx

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dominated with both bat and ball to outclass Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 50 runs in a somewhat one-sided Indian Premier League (IPL) tie at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Friday.

Apart from propelling RCB to the top of the IPL table with four points with two wins from matches, it also saw the visitors break a 17-year jinx at the Chepauk. It's been 17 years since RCB last triumphed at this venue, a solitary win that came in the inaugural IPL season back in 2008.

Josh Hazlewood spearheaded the RCB bowling attack with figures of 3-21 and received sturdy support from Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone - both of them bagged two wickets each - as CSK's quest to chase the 197-run target fizzled out at 146-8.

Opener Rachin Ravindra waged a lone battle at the top of the CSK batting order with a steady 41 off 31 balls but was let down by an almost total lack of support from his teammates.
