IPL: Gujarat Titans Ride Buttler Show to Thrash Delhi Capitals

England star smashes unbeaten 97 as hosts win by seven wickets to rise to the top of the points table

Jos Buttler lit up Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium with a special performance as Gujarat Titans (GT) crushed Delhi Capitals (DC) by seven wickets in a top-of-the-table Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Saturday.

The England star smashed an unbeaten quickfire 97 and was involved in a century partnership with Sherfane Rutherford as the Titans overhauled a challenging target of 204 runs with four ball to spare.

Buttler enthralled the home crowd, hitting 11 boundaries and four sixes over the course of his 54-ball innings. Rutherford missed out on what would have been a well-deserved half-century, needing 34 deliveries to score 43 runs before being dismissed by Delhi pacer Mukesh Kumar.

With their fifth win in seven matches, GT have climbed to the top of the points table, displacing DC to the second spot, who suffered their second loss.
