Corporates, institutions observe World Environment Day

The World Environment Day was observed across Odisha by several corporate houses and educational institutions on Thursday.

Dhamra Adani Port: Under the theme of "Beat Plastic Pollution," the Environment Department orchestrated an inspiring observance of World Environment Day at Dhamra Port, aiming to enlighten children, employees, workers, and residents about the perils of plastic pollution. The week-long celebration was brimming with engaging activities, including spot quizzes for site workers, quiz competitions for employees, drawing contests and quizzes for children, rally chanting slogans to end plastic pollution and campaigns encouraging site workers to combat plastic pollution and safeguard our environment. Additionally, the Environment Department organized a Waste Collection Camp within the Colony. 550 saplings were planted.

JSP Angul: From mini-marathon to plantation of saplings, Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), Angul, organised a series of engaging activities aligned with the global theme, "Beat Plastic Pollution", to mark World Environment Day 2025. Dr Prafula Kumar Behera, Scientist, State Pollution Control Board, Mr. Atul Dubey, President - Steel & Utilities, Mr. Dilip Sinha, CHRO, Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati, Heads of various departments, employees, their families, and local community members enthusiastically participated in the programme. Jindal Foundation, the social arm of JSP, also observed World Environment Day at the Jamunali Farmer's Field School with the participation of 40 natural farmers.
