Acknowledging academic excellence at Awards

THE University of South Africa, Unisa, hosted a star studded celebration of academic achievement last night at the Maslow Hotel in Pretoria, where leading scholars, innovators, council members and invited guests gathered for the inaugural Research, Teaching and Engaged Scholarship Excellence Awards.

The glamorous event marked a historic moment for the institution as it formally recognised outstanding contributions across its core academic and professional streams.The ceremony introduced the university’s most extensive recognition platform yet, celebrating excellence across twenty five categories. More than one hundred academics and professional staff were honoured for their achievements in Research, Innovation, Teaching and Learning and Institutional Excellence.

The awards reflected the depth and breadth of Unisa’s scholarly strengths and acknowledged exceptional work in postgraduate supervision, innovative teaching models, research outputs, science communication, community engagement and digital advancement.
