UPBEAT: Mark Robins says he's excited by Stoke's potential.
MARK Robins knows that managers in the Championship are generally an at-risk species but he is planning like he is going to be at Stoke City forever.
Robins' seven-and-a-half years transforming Coventry City came to an abrupt end late last year having overseen work that will probably one day earn him a statue outside the CBS Arena, bringing success on the pitch while he dealt with crises off it.
He joined Stoke on January 1 and the scenario was pretty much flipped. Coach after coach has praised the owners at the bet365 Stadium but coach after coach has been unable to find a way to get the team consistently winning.
Since Mark Hughes was sacked following an FA Cup defeat at Robins' then League Two Coventry in early 2018, Stoke have been relegated from the Premier League and finished 16th, 15th, 14th, 14th, 16th, 17th and 18th in the Championship.
