Turnock's double stuns White Star

HIGH-FLYING Madeley White Star suffered a setback when they went down 2-0 away to AFC Norton at Community Drive, writes Chris Jackson.

Talented midfielder Jack Turnock scored both goals for Wayne Smith's team in the second half.

Madeley slipped from third to fourth in the table.

Josh Oultram headed home a Harry Flower cross 15 minutes from time as Ball Haye Green won 1-0 at AFC Crewe.

The South Cheshire side rallied towards the closing stages, but their efforts sailed over the Green crossbar.

Hanley Town and visitors Ashbourne shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Northwood Stadium.

Ashbourne skipper Jacob Edge-Lucas gave his side a 30th-minute lead with a fine shot and they looked well in control going into the halftime break.

But Michael Morton's hosts upped the tempo in the second period.

From a series of corners, one finally fell at the near post in the 64th minute, where former Norton and Abbey Hulton striker Lee Cropper poked the ball home for an equaliser.

Rocester got back on the goal trail after recent setbacks when they defeated Leek CSOB 3-0 at Hillsfield.

Talented wide-man Jake Walklett gave the Romans the lead in the 32nd minute, quickly followed by a second a minute later from Euan Harris.

Before the travelling Old Boys could make any impression in the second half, Charles Lucy added a third for the hosts.

Rocester moved back into second spot on goal difference as a result.

They replaced Matt Warren's Redgate Clayton who had initially moved into second place on Friday after a 2-0 away win over Wes Latocha's Leek Town at the F-Ball Community Stadium.

Brad Wilson (25 minutes) and Lynden Nixon (30) were on target for Redgate.

Matt Rogalski's Wolstanton United got back to winning ways on an away trip to Roe Lane where they defeated Steve Hulme's Newcastle Town 1-0.

A 47th-minute strike from Sam Wytcherley meant Wolstanton moved up to eighth spot.

Newcomers Cannock Dynamos have enjoyed their debut season in the top flight, pulling off some eyebrow-raising results.
