Tribute as mum loses cancer fight

A FAMILY has been left devastated after a mum-of-three lost her cancer fight.

Yorkshire Fisheries, in Cobridge, closed for good after Androulla Neocleous was struck down with cancer and she has now passed away.

The 47-year-old, from Sneyd Green, had been referred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital in April 2023 with tummy pains. Doctors discovered a stage one stomach tumour.

Androulla underwent surgery to remove the growth and consultants gave her the all-clear. But a follow-up appointment in January 2024 revealed she had developed leiomyosarcoma - a rare and aggressive type of cancer which affects soft tissue lining.

Son Angel Koulli says the loss of his 'beautiful' mother has been devastating.

The 21-year-old said: "After the first operation we were hopeful. The doctors were satisfied it was all gone and that she wouldn't need any chemotherapy or anything like that.
