TOMAS Rigo is excited to be at the centre of Stoke City's drive for the top six as he finds his feet in England.

TOMAS HITTING HIS STRIDE

AIMING HIGH: Stoke City midfielder Tomas Rigo is hoping that the Potters can secure a space in the Championship play-offs this season.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined Stoke from Banik Ostrava, in the Czech league, on the last day of the transfer window in August and showed his potential before being used largely from the substitutes' bench for a couple of months while he was, in his own words, getting to grips with the Championship.

But he has been a starter and key figure since the turn of the year as Stoke have picked up three wins and two draws in six games.

The Potters are two points behind the playoff places with 17 matches remaining, starting with a home clash against Southampton on Saturday (12.30pm).

Rigo said: "It is exciting. We are all aiming for the top six.

"This is still the goal. Now people will come back slowly and we can be there.
