Residents 'still at risk' at care home

Site in special measures over 11 safeguarding concerns

A NORTH Staffordshire care home has been placed into special measures after inspectors found that residents were threatening others and people were not protected from harm.

CQC inspectors twice had to ask staff to intervene to keep people safe while visiting Wall Hill Care Home in Leek.

They also identified four breaches of regulations relating to safe care and treatment.

Inspectors raised 11 safeguarding concerns on behalf of people living in the home.

The privately-run care home, which looks after older people and those with mental health conditions, disabilities and dementia, has now been rated inadequate and put into special measures to ensure residents are protected while improvements are made.

Wall Hill Care Home, in Broad Street, was previously rated as 'requires improvement'.
