Frontman Tezgel commits his future to Stoke but could spend time away

- Keith Wales

EMRE Tezgel’s immediate future is likely to lie away from Stoke City - despite the 19-year-old striker signing a new two-year contract with the club.

It is understood that several clubs from Leagues One and Two are already keen to take Tezgel on loan next season, and that is an option the Potters are likely to pursue.

But they have also moved to ensure that rivals from higher up the footballing food chain are not tempted to try to lure him away on a more permanent basis during the transfer window.

Tezgel was understandably coy about any transfer interest, claimed to revolve around promoted Leeds United and Turkish top-flight side Fenerbahce, when discussing his new Stoke deal.

However, he was more forthright about the probable next moves in his career - and what he feels have been three largely disappointing years at Stoke.
