Residents to have say on how it's spent

- Sentinel Reporter

THREE Stoke-on-Trent communities will share up to £20 million of Government funding to bring about 'real change!

Bradeley, Chell Heath and Fegg Hayes have been named as one of an additional 40 'overlooked' communities across England to receive the cash through the Government's Pride in Place programme.

It follows previous £20 million funding announcements for Meir North and Bentilee and Ubberley under the same scheme.

The funding is part of a £5 billion national programme launched by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Under the programme, local residents will have a direct say over how the funding is spent, with investment expected to support:

■Bringing empty and derelict properties back into use;

■Supporting local groups and community organisations;
