Expansion part of plans to end corridor care at the Royal Stoke

PATIENTS across North Staffordshire will be seen in a new urgent treatment centre (UTC) at the Royal Stoke - in a bid to reduce corridor care and ease pressures on A&E.
MP Gareth Snell revealed that the complex will receive one of the new UTCs as part of a major national drive to improve patient experience across the NHS.
The new UTC will provide 'rapid assessment' and treatment for patients with urgent but non life-threatening conditions.
The idea is to help ensure people are treated in the right place to help ease pressure on the busy A&E department at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
