DARREN Moore was delighted after Port Vale secured their second win of the season in seven attempts - both victories coming in the Carabao Cup.
A team consisting of seven changes beat Birmingham City 1-0 - thanks to Jaheim Headley’s first-half goal - and it was a real filip ahead of their next League One clash, at Reading, on Saturday.
“What a fantastic night for all of us connected at Port Vale,” Moore told Vale TV.
“It was a good performance, a solid performance, a satisfactory performance in terms of how the game went.
“We thought the first 25 minutes was always going to be key.
“We had to get into the pace of the game because of the ferocious pace that they set here And the way they ask questions. And I thought every single one to a man did. It was just about getting up to speed. Once they did that we got to grips with the game and we looked really dangerous from set-plays.
