Malfunctioning midfield at heart of Valiants' problems

In the seven home league games they have failed to score in four of them.

Since his arrival of manager Darren Moore in January 2024, Vale have won only once alter conceding the first goal.

George Byers and Ben Garrity are two of Moore’s ‘go to’ players and they simply haven’t been good enough over a period of time.

Vale's midfield were nowhere to be seen against Stockport apart from the usual efforts of Ryan Croasdale, although he was culpable in front of goal when Vale needed him to score.

Funso Ojo was the team’s best player in August and has then been left out in the cold.
