THE stats from games at Vale Park are damning for Port Vale at the moment in League One.

- Clive Youlton

Their home record leaves a lot to be desired.

They have scored five goals - the second worst in the division.

‘They have just one win - the worst in the division.

They have five points from seven games - the second worst in the division.

‘They have two 0-0 draws which no other team can better.

In the seven home league games they have failed to score in four of them.

Since his arrival of manager Darren Moore in January 2024, Vale have won only once alter conceding the first goal.

‘That was against Newport County on January 18.

The club now posses one of the best goalscorers in the division in Devante Cole but they have a malfunctioning midfield.

George Byers and Ben Garrity are two of Moore’s ‘go to’ players and they simply haven’t been good enough over a period of time.

Vale's midfield were nowhere to be seen against Stockport apart from the usual efforts of Ryan Croasdale, although he was culpable in front of goal when Vale needed him to score.

Funso Ojo was the team’s best player in August and has then been left out in the cold.
