Lights will pulse in time to residents' heartbeats
The Sentinel
|December 24, 2025
RESIDENTS are invited to 'lend their heartbeats' to a special light installation celebrating the people and spirit of Stoke-on-Trent.
The Matter of the Heart will feature in Light Up Middleport - part of Appetite's Light Up Winter series - taking place in Middleport Park on January 21 and 22 from 4pm to 8pm.
The artwork, created by award-winning studio idontloveyouanymore, is made up of 30 glowing boxes, each connected to a person's live heartbeat and accompanied by a short description of their connection to Stoke-on-Trent.
Together, they will form a portrait of the city's beating heart.
