'I paid £1,200 to Selfridges for a Cartier ring – and all they sent was an empty box'

ANGRY Andrew Jackson paid £1,200 online for a Cartier ring - and received an empty box.

Mr Jackson, of Biddulph, ordered the gift from Selfridges to celebrate his daughter graduating from her chartered accountancy course.

But the 54-year-old was 'horrified' when two days later his package arrived - minus the most important part.

He said: "The box did feel quite light but it was only a ring so I didn't think much of it. Then I opened the box and was shocked to find the box only contained a little crumpled-up piece of paper. I realised the box was completely empty."

Car salesman Mr Jackson said he rang Selfridges customer services immediately and the upmarket retail giant said it would reply in 'a few hours'.
