GOLF PADRAIG Harrington has opened up about the mental battles he faced while securing his place in an elite group of major champions.

The Dublin golfer, right, claimed his second major triumph in just one month, holding off challenges from Justin Leonard and Thomas Bjorn to secure a commanding three-shot victory at the Senior Open at Sunningdale.

Following his US Senior Open triumph just four weeks prior, Harrington continued his remarkable purple patch to become only the fifth player in golf's history to claim both the Open and Senior Open titles.
