A POTTERY firm is calling on councils to recognise the annual Potters' Fortnight - as one of its employees faces being slapped with term-time holiday fines.

- Thomas Cooper

The Dunoon worker has taken his three children out of school this week because he is off work for a two-week shutdown.

But he and his wife face returning home to fines from Staffordshire County Council. It comes as the worker had switched careers after being attacked as a prison guard and suffering post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Wife Jessica Nation believes her husband's PTSD should be taken into account when considering their case.
