Ruari Paton got Vale off to the best possible start with a quickfire brace inside 10 minutes and their domination continued into the second half when Dajaune Brown, Ben Waine and Jesse Debrah converted and capped off a 5-0 victory over Barnsley on Tuesday night.

Reacting, Moore said: "I am really pleased to score five goals, to make the nine changes that we did from the weekend, really pleased with the players that came in and performed the way they did but I thought it was an all round good team performance.

"I think the only difference here was we just scored the goals. Nothing different because we've had some strong performances leading up to this game.
