Cop is jailed after he struck up sexual relationship with vulnerable woman

He also sent explicit video to female witness in case

DISGRACED former Staffordshire Police officer Owen Mills has been jailed after he struck up a sexual relationship with a vulnerable woman. The 22-year-old also exchanged sexual messages and images with a witness.

Now Mills, pictured below, who resigned from his position in June 2023, has been sent to prison for two years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

He was told by the sentencing judge that his actions had 'undermined the confidence that the public have in the police.'

Prosecutor Kat Shields said prior to forming the sexual relationship with the woman, Mills sent a video of himself performing a sex act to a woman shop worker who he took a statement from in relation to a shoplifting offence in 2022.
