Cafe boss calls for free parking for customers

OWNERS of a café at a beauty spot are calling for changes to car parking fees amid concerns raised by customers.

Westport Lake Café says the cost of parking can discourage customers from visiting the venue. The café was taken over in March on a 10-year lease with Stoke-on-Trent City Council by Joanne Upton, Corinne Mannion and Amy Mansfield.

Since taking over, they have noticed increasing comments from customers about parking charges.

It costs £1 for one hour, £1.50 for up to three hours and £3 for all day. Parking at the site was free until November 2021.
