Barriers put in place to ease diversion troubles

BARRIERS will go up on a city road today - to ease problems caused by a route diversion.

The red and white barricades will form a chicane in Kelvin Avenue - which runs from Birches Head to Sneyd Green.

It follows complaints about the road being used as a diversion during multi-million pound Severn Trent works nearby.

The issues began when Hanley Road, on to Chell Street, was made one-way from Sneyd Green to the outskirts of the city centre.
