Discount chain’s plan for old Homebase store approved
ABOUT 100 jobs are set to be created after multi-million pound plans to turn a former Homebase store into North Staffordshire’s newest Home Bargains were rubber-stamped.
Newcastle’s Homebase store was one of 74 put up for sale when the DIY and garden chain collapsed into administration in November.
It shut its doors for good in February. Two months later Home Bargains proposeed investing £3 million to bring the Brook Lane unit back into use.
