THE 10th edition of the Odisha Manaska circle, a monthly discussion forum organised by All Things Odisha, took place on Sunday at Saheed Nagar, here. This edition, which attracted a diverse crowd, focused on the pressing and relatable topic: “Who Are We on Screen? Shaping and Reflecting the Evolving Odia Identity Through Film.”
The discussion brought together two key figures in the Odia film industry — Surya Deo, an eminent film journalist, historian, researcher, and National Award-winning writer, and Swastik Choudhury, a young actor, indie filmmaker, and producer of several internationally acclaimed films. Together, they engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with the audience on the role of cinema in shaping and reflecting the Odia identity.
