H&UD Minister reviews CRUT initiatives, sets vision for expanded, tech-driven transit

ODISHA'S Housing & Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra visited the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) head office in Bhubaneswar on Thursday to assess the progress of urban mobility projects across Odisha.
The Minister conducted a comprehensive review of CRUT's operations, focusing on infrastructure expansion, depot construction, and the adoption of technology-driven services.
During the visit, CRUT Managing Director Dr. N Thirumala Naik briefed the Minister on key initiatives, including the development of electric bus depots in Naraj, Pokhariput, Chhend, Rourkela, Haldiapadar, Berhampur, and Sambalpur. He also detailed the upcoming extension of services to Keonjhar, Baripada, Angul, and Jharsuguda under the first phase of the organization’s expansion strategy.
