Clash between BJP and BJD workers turns Athagarh Block Office front into battlefield

THE premises of Athagarh block office turned into a virtual battleground on Tuesday as workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) clashed violently, resulting in several injuries, including to police personnel.

At least seven police officials were injured in the chaos, three of them critically. Among the critically injured are Athagarh SDPO Biswajit Mohanty, Sub-Inspector Bijay Jena of Tigiria police station, and OSAP constable Abinash Veer. The injuries occurred while they were attempting to control the situation and disperse the clashing groups.
