UST Conservatory of Music stages 'South Pacific' for 80th anniversary

The Conservatory of Music of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) is staging the classic musical “South Pacific” this weekend (Feb. 21 and 22) at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati, in celebration of its 80th anniversary.

The UST production stars singer-actress Ciara Sotto as Nellie Forbush and US-based singer-actor Jose Vera Perez as Emile De Becque.

"South Pacific" is among the most celebrated works of the legendary songwriting team Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, who also created iconic musicals such as “The Sound of Music,” “The King and I,” “Carousel” and “Oklahoma!”
