Tino damage to Negros agri, infra jumps to P1.98 B

From P605.4 million several days ago, the amount of losses to agriculture and infrastructure caused by Typhoon Tino in Negros Occidental jumped to P1.98 billion over the weekend as damage assessment continued, the provincial government reported yesterday.

The figure included P1.39 billion in damage to roads and bridges, P172.841 million to education facilities, P294.91 million to crops and livestock, P125.67 million to fishery and P449,000 to farm machinery.
Death toll in Negros Occidental increased to 67, with 48 still missing as of Friday.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has asked Malacañang to allocate funds for the repair of damaged bridges and roads, to make areas isolated by the typhoon accessible again.
