It was a kid with a voice that might be another Andrea Boccelli and who could blend pop and classical music with remarkable ease. He was also very young, only 19 years old. His name was Josh Groban.

Then the buzz started going around and it got louder and louder. Foster had another discovery who was very different but would be just as big as Groban. That one would revolutionize the Great American Songbook. The name of the kid was Michael Bublé, and he did become a success. In fact, he did for swing what Groban did for opera and he did become big—bigger than he ever imagined while growing up in Canada.

This year, for the very first time, Bublé released an all-hits compilation album. I am not really a fan of hits collections. I listen to an album the way I would watch a movie. I see stories in my mind set to the music. Those little tales would all disappear in a compilation album. That would be just like watching footage of TV shows and motion pictures with no story at all.
