The local stock market sustained its downward spiral on lack of positive news to buck the prevailing negative sentiment over the country’s corruption issues.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index shed 0.74 percent or 44.14 points to close yesterday’s session at 5,953.46.

The broader All Shares index suffered the same fate, slipping by 0.43 percent or 15.55 points to 3,620.79.
