With the Tropang 5G threatening to bury them to a 0-3 pit, the Bolts amped it up on both ends to score a 97-89 breakthrough in last night's Game 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

In a major upshift from the first two games that saw them yield, 95-100 and 92-109, Meralco held TNT's artillery to under 100 points this time while doing a considerably better job on offense as they put an end to their years-long losing skid against the Tropang 5G.

Prior to the eight-point win, the charges of coach Luigi Trillo have lost their last seven meetings with TNT dating back to the Season 48 Commissioner's Cup.
