PLDT eliminates OTPs in new security solution

The enterprise segment of telco giant PLDT Inc. is doing away with onetime passwords (OTPs) in authenticating online transactions, bringing in a fresh solution called SmartSafe SilentAccess to bring the Philippines up to new standards.
PLDT Enterprise yesterday formalized a partnership with state regulators, led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, in launching another portfolio of cybersecurity services.
The suite, called SmartSafe, is headlined by a flagship solution named SilentAccess, eliminating the need for consumers to receive OTPs to authenticate logins and transactions.
