Phl Joins 19-Nation Military Exercise in Australia

For the first time, the Philippines is participating in Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025, the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the US.
This year's exercise will be held from July 13 to 27 across various locations in Australia, including Rockhampton, Townsville, Brisbane and Sydney, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said yesterday.
The multinational drills bring together regional allies and partners to enhance interoperability, readiness and cooperation in addressing shared security challenges.
"While the AFP sent only observers during the 2023 iteration, 2025 marks the first time Philippine military personnel are taking part as official participants in the exercises," said AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad.
The AFP contingent includes 32 personnel, composed of both observers and active participants.
