Phl bond market growth slows in Q2

The country’s bond market expanded at a slower pace in the second quarter from the previous quarter due to lower central bank and corporate bond issuances, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

In its Asia Bond Monitor — September 2025 report, the multilateral lender said outstanding local currency bonds in the Philippines registered a 2.7 percent growth to P13.8 trillion in the second quarter, slower than the 4.1 percent q-0-q expansion posted in the previous quarter.

The ADB said the growth moderated quarter-on-quarter due to the 18-percent decline in the stock of central bank securities and the four-percent contraction in corporate bonds.
