P6.7 B Released for Health Workers' Allowance - DBM
The Philippine Star
|September 03, 2025
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released nearly P6.77 billion to pay the final balance for public health emergency benefits and allowances (PHEBA) of health care and non-health care workers.
The amount covers 1,411,546 claims from 2021 to 2023, stemming from local government units and private health care facilities, state universities as well as other institutions, the DBM said.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said the DBM's move is in line with the directive of President Marcos to release the funds for the services of the health sector during the pandemic.
"We have approved the special allotment release order for the Department of Health (DOH) worth P6.7 billion to pay the declared final balance of the government for health emergency allowance," Pangandaman said.
