Revisiting and rediscovering his musical path is what Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artist Miguel Escueta has recently embarked on. His outputs are the new singles, Summer Dream and Pangako ng Bukas.

Available on streaming platforms like Spotify, the songs concluded the pop-rock singer-composer’s breather from the recording scene and commenced a new chapter in his creative life.

The STAR had a brief chat with Miguel, who joined the Pinoy alternative rock scene more than a decade ago with songs such as Falling Away and Isipin. They were followed up with ditties Handa, Blue Monday, Only Hope, Sleeping While The World’s Awake and Now It Starts.

“My first album came out in 2007,” recalled Miguel, who was referring to “I AM M.E.” “I was a fresh graduate, and I signed with MCA Music (Inc.)... during that time, I also signed with ALV (Talent Circuit, a talent management company). Then, I became a mainstay in ‘Party Pilipinas’ (a GMA show) for a couple of years.”

After his stint in the Sunday variety show and with MCA Music, Inc, Miguel got signed with the independent label, and he “rebranded himself as The Morning Episodes,” a band, according to a piece of information.

“Some of our songs got used on some US and international TV shows,” said he. “I was releasing music as The Morning Episodes until 2018.”

Then, he decided to put up the company, Frank & Dean Coffee, and focus on building it.

“That’s the time when I decided to stop (doing) music, and I thought I retired for good,” shared he.
