Inflation, health care key issues for voters - OCTA

For a majority of Filipinos, addressing inflation and improving the country's health care system remain the priority issues that will impact their voting behavior in the upcoming midterm elections, according to a survey conducted by the OCTA Research group.

The survey, conducted from April 10 to 16, asked respondents which of the platforms or advocacies provided to them would make them consider voting for a candidate.

Topping the list was "keeping basic goods and services affordable," which was selected by 53 percent of the respondents.

It was followed by "improving and reinforcing the health care system" with 50 percent.

These were followed by strengthening the agriculture sector and ensuring food security (47 percent), expanding job opportunities (41 percent), reducing poverty and addressing hunger (38 percent), combatting illegal drugs (38 percent), fighting crimes (32 percent) and equal education opportunities (30 percent).
