The five wealthiest tycoons in the country have retained their spot in the Forbes list of the Philippines' 50 richest for 2025, with the Sy siblings, the heirs to the SM group built by the late Henry Sy Sr., maintaining their spot at No. 1.

- By RICHMOND MERCURIO

The Sy siblings, composed of Teresita, Elizabeth, Henry Jr., Hans, Herbert and Harley, remained the country's richest with a fortune of $11.8 billion.

Forbes said that their combined net worth comprised largely of stakes held in the group's flagship listed conglomerate SM Investments Corp. and integrated property developer SM Prime Holdings Inc. Maintaining his spot at No. 2 is ports and casino tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. with a net worth of $11.5 billion.

Razon, who is behind listed companies like International Container Terminal Services Inc. and Solaire casino operator Bloomberry Resorts, dislodged real estate magnate Manuel Villar Jr. from the second spot in last year’s list.
