Deactivated voters increase to 5.38 M

The number of voters who have been deactivated and may no longer vote in the May 2025 midterm elections has increased to more than 5.38 million, the Commission on Elections Comelec) said yesterday.
Aside from deactivating voters, the Comelec has also removed up to 686,859 from the list of registered voters as of July 15.
Latest Comelec data showed a total of 5,388,421 voters have been deactivated.
A majority of those deactivated failed to vote in two successive elections.
