BI: Guo ruling a win for Phl gov't

A Manila court ruling on Alice Guo's Chinese nationality "is a win for the national government," the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said yesterday.

"This case reveals how a foreign national penetrated public office using false documents and a fabricated identity," Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.

Guo is suspected of being a Chinese spy.

Detained at the Pasig City Jail for nearly 10 months, the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac is facing multiple charges of qualified human trafficking, money laundering and graft stemming from her ties with a transnational criminal network operating scam hubs in Bamban.
