'Bagong Pilipinas will always advocate for women's rights'

The Philippine Star

March 09, 2025

President Marcos yesterday vowed to vigorously push for the rights of women, a sector he described as an "unshakeable force" that has contributed immensely to the development of the country.

- Alexis Romero

In his message for the International Women's Day and National Women's Month, Marcos said women have played a crucial role in shaping the nation's narrative, citing the babaylans (pre-colonial spiritual leaders), katipuneras and Filipina guerillas of the past and today's frontliners, professional trailblazers and visionary leaders.

He added that the Philippines has produced millions of empowered women who have offered their knowledge, talents and even their lives for the sake of others.
