AboitizPower Expanding AI Use Across Coal Fleet

Aboitiz Power Corp. is ramping up the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in its coal-fired power plants across the country following its successful implementation in Mindanao.

AboitizPower, through its Transition Business Group (TBG), intends to incorporate AI and data analytics into its coal fleet in Luzon and the Visayas in line with efforts to enhance the efficiency of the facilities.

The company is expanding its "Project Arkanghel," an initiative aimed at modernizing its existing coal plants into smart ones to ensure availability and reliability. The move is set to be implemented in phases.
