CNN fears 'death knell' as Netflix clears way for Paramount

The decision by Netflix to drop its bid for Warner Bros — clearing the way for Paramount Skydance and its billionaire owners, the Ellisons - has terrified CNN staff, who believe it sounds the death knell for the world’s first 24-hour news channel.
“After the Washington Post, they're going to come for CNN,” said one staffer who asked to remain anonymous. “Paramount has put Bari Weiss in charge of CBS News to keep Trump happy and if she takes control at CNN, it’s the end of the network”
“It's like a graveyard except everyone is panicking,” said another. “Trump despises CNN more than any other news organisation and he wanted the Ellisons to buy us to kill us off.”
