SC raps Bengal govt, Guv on V-C appointments

THE Supreme Court has come down heavily on the West Bengal Governor CV ananda Bose and the state government over their skirmishes on appointment of Vice-Chancellors in the state universities.

Both the parties were on Friday warned that they should amicably resolve their differences or, the top court said, it would appoint the V-Cs.

“please try to resolve your differences amicably in appointing the V-Cs. Else we will come in the picture and make the appointments,” a two-judge bench led by Justice Surya Kant and also comprising Justice KV Vishwanathan said.
