SPENDING TO RISE BY 12.2% IN 2025, DRIVEN BY AI POWERED CYBER THREATS

- Rakesh Kumar

GLOBAL SECURITY

Global security spending is expected to grow by 12.2% year-over-year in 2025 as cyber threats become more complex and frequent, largely due to the rise of generative AI and other AI advancements. According to the latest forecast from the International Data Corporation Worldwide Security Spending Guide, organizations worldwide are rapidly adopting advanced cybersecurity measures to protect against evolving threats. This sustained investment in security is projected to continue through the 2023-2028 period, reaching $377 billion by 2028.

The United States and Western Europe will remain the dominant regions, accounting for more than 70% of global security spending in 2025. However, other regions, particularly Latin America, Central & Eastern Europe, and the Middle East & Africa, are expected to experience the highest growth in security investments.
