Fresh breather for Sukhu-led HP govt

IN a fresh breather for the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh assembly speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has accepted the resignation of three Independent MLAs who voted in favour of the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls a few months back.
The strength of the House has now come down to 59.
The three MLAs-Hoshiyar Singh from Dehra, Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur and KL Thakur from Nalagarh voted for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan in the February 27 Rajya Sabha elections along with six Congress rebel legislators.
These legislators had submitted their resignation to the Speaker on March 22.
"By accepting the resignations of three independent MLAs, CM Sukhu has ensured that his government will survive for another few months.
The decision comes as a reprieve for the Congress," said a senior BJP leader.
