Puducherry's per capita income rose by 5.33% this fiscal: L-G in budget speech

The economy of Puducherry, in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), has expanded by 44.06% over the past five years, achieving an average annual growth rate of 9.56%.

Delivering the customary address at the opening of the budget session of the Legislative Assembly on Monday, Lt Governor K Kalaishnathan highlighted the significant progress made by the current government in comparison to the previous government.

The GSDP growth rate, which stood at -2.21% in 2020-21, has improved to 8.81% in 2024-25. The per capita income at current prices has risen by 5.33% in 2024-25 to reach ₹3,02,680 from ₹2,87,354 in the previous fiscal year.
