More CRPF Platoons to Bolster Security in J&K

AFTER a high-level security meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government decided to move additional CRPF personnel to Jammu and Kashmir for strategic security adjustment amid rising tensions, officials said on Friday.

In the meeting, held after the BSF claimed that it had foiled an infiltration bid along the international border in Jammu, the Home Minister reviewed the situation along frontiers with Pakistan, they said.

Shah also took stock of the steps taken to beef up security at airports across the country and the deployment status in J&K, the sources said.
