State moves SC against CBI probe in K'kurichi hooch case

LAW Minister S Regupathy on Thursday said the state government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Madras High Court transferring the investigation into the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy to the CBI to ensure speedy justice for the victims.
"Due to the speedy investigation of the CB-CID, 24 people have been arrested so far and 17 of them have been detained under the Goondas Act. The chargesheet is expected to be filed soon.
