Nipah scare eases as high risk contact tests negative

A potential Nipah virus scare in Malappuram eased on Wednesday after the Health Department confirmed that a 78-year-old woman—considered a high-risk contact—had tested negative for the virus.
The woman, a native of Parappanangadi, had been undergoing treatment alongside an 18-year-old girl who had earlier succumbed to Nipah. Her death prompted health officials to send samples to the National
